Polo thinks he's the man who will lead Ghana to a fifth CAN.
Mohammed Polo, a former Ghanaian football player, says he has the skills and experience to succeed his current Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah.
According to him, even though there has been no firm decision about the future of the current coach, he still believes that if the local coach has the opportunity to do so.
Speaking at the "Wamputu Sports" broadcast of Happy FM with Joe Debrah, the former player and head coach of Hearts of Oak said, "We have excellent coaches in the country that can coach the Black Stars team. I am always ready to coach them if the opportunity arises. It is long overdue. It is painful to think about it, time has been lost, but I imagine that God's time is the best. "
The Black Stars left the competition in the round of 16.
Appiah is said to have an ongoing contract that will expire in December, even though her initial two-year contract ended in April, before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations organized in Egypt.
It is currently unclear why and who extended Appiah's contract for another six months while the usual practice was to extend it to the end of the NPC and, based on the results of the team, negotiate a contract longer.
Neither the Standards Committee nor the Ministry of Sport has recognized the extension, but the sector minister, Isaac Asiamah, who appeared before Parliament today, did not enlighten the contracts.
