Shouting and releasing a "real emotion" on an ex can help you lose weight, it was said.
Scientists have discovered that emotional tears contain hormones that increase the level of cortisone.
The hormones prolactin, leu-enkephalin and adrenocorticotropin (also called ACTH) are produced when we are under pressure.
Crying, the hormones are released, which lowers our levels of cortisol – a hormone related to stress, it is reported.
The body then receives a signal that the stress is over and that, therefore, we do not need to keep fat, reports Bright Side.
These are just tears caused by a real emotion that makes the effect, says the report.
Scientists believe on average that people cry about 16.5 gallons of tears in their lives.
An earlier study from the University of Minnesota, USA, found that crying can also help healing, boost immunity and reduce levels of anger and stress.
Professor William Frey, who worked on the study, said earlier, "We feel better after crying because we literally cry.
"The chemicals that accumulate during emotional stress can be eliminated in our tears when we cry.
"Unlightened stress can increase the risk of heart attack and damage certain areas of our brain.
"The human capacity to cry has a survival value."

It is also believed that emotional tears – when we are unhappy rather than in pain – contain higher levels of manganese and potbadium.
Manganese is a nutrient that helps reduce bad cholesterol and helps potbadium to control hypertension.
Emotional tears also contain a hormone called prolactin, which helps reduce feelings of stress and strengthens the immune system.
