KOBE (Reuters) – Ernesto Valverde, the Barcelona coach, is confident that new rookie Antoine Griezmann will have no problem in uniting with strike partners Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez when the trio will finally appear in the same team.
Griezmann, who signed with Atletico Madrid, two La Liga rivals, earlier this month, was part of the group during the Japan tour in Barcelona and played in the 2-0 win of the 39 team on Vissel Kobe on Saturday.
However, as a result of their achievements in the Copa America, Messi and Suarez have had an extended break and will not join the team before their return from Japan.
With 682 goals scored in the Liga, Valverde is naturally very excited about the attacking trident and thinks that Griezmann could be the missing piece of the puzzle as Barcelona continue their first Champions League trophy since 2015.
"It's true that some players who integrate well integrate more easily," Valverde said.
"We will see the relationship socially and at the camp, and we are delighted with this opportunity.
"We believe in balance in the team, forward or backward, he (Griezmann) is fast moving forward, he pbades well, he finds room and c & # 39; we missed it. "
Carles Perez, a 21-year-old academy graduate, scored two goals in the second half to seal the win over Kobe on Saturday in front of former Barca players Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Sergi Samper.
"Carles Perez scored two goals today, so that's good news for his potential and shows how we can get young guys to the front," said Valverde.
The former captain of Barca Iniesta, who left the club after 16 years filled with trophies, said it was a strange afternoon with former teammates such as Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic.
"Well, it's a bit strange of course (to play against Barcelona)," said the 35-year-old.
"You spend so much time playing with the same players … it's strange, special.
"But at the beginning of the match, you clearly focus on playing and trying to give a good impression."
The next preseason game of Barcelona will be against Arsenal at Nou Camp on August 7th.
