Mr. Olu Adenipekun, head of the HNO National Office, said in an address to Lagos: "One million and twenty thousand five hundred and nineteen (1,020,519) candidates representing 64.18% obtained credits. and more in at least five (5) subjects including English and mathematics.
"The results of one hundred and eighty thousand two hundred and five (180,205) candidates, representing 11.33% of the total number of candidates who pbaded the examination, were disclosed as a result of several reported cases of misconduct.
According to him, the cases of the persons suspected of having committed errors of examination are currently the object of investigations, adding that the reports of the investigations would be presented to the competent committee of the Council in due time. .
In the breakdown of results, Adenipekun said: "Out of a total of one million five hundred and ninety-three thousand and one hundred and seventy-three (1,590,173) candidates having pbaded the exam in Nigeria, eight hundred and twenty-two thousand and nine one hundred and seventy (822,098)) were men, while seven hundred and sixty-eight thousand and seventy-five (768,075) were women, representing respectively 51.70% and 48.30%.
"Of the total number of candidates who have pbaded the exam in Nigeria, one million four hundred and sixty-eight thousand and seventy-one (1,468,071) candidates, or 92.32%, have their results fully processed and published; One hundred and twenty-two thousand and two (122,102) candidates representing 7.68% have some subjects still undergoing treatment.
"Efforts are being made, however, to complete the processing quickly and all concerned candidates will receive their results fully processed and published later.
"The badysis of statistics on the performance of candidates on the exam shows that out of one million five hundred and ninety thousand one hundred and seventy-three (1,590,173) candidates for examination, one million three one hundred and nine thousand five hundred Seventy (1,309,570) candidates representing 82.35% obtained credits and at least five (5) subjects (ie with or without English and / or mathematics).

Of this number, five hundred and seven thousand eight hundred and sixty – two (507,862) i. e. 49.77% were men and five hundred and twelve thousand six hundred and fifty seven (512,657), or 50.23%, were women. The percentage of this category in WASSCE for School Candidates 2018 was 50%.

In the meantime, he added that a total of nineteen eighteen (1,918) candidates with varying degrees of special need were enrolled in the exam.
"Of these, 299 were visually impaired, 842 had hearing loss; 158 had low vision; 75 were spastic spermatozoa and 85 physically. All of these applicants with special needs were adequately supported in administering the exam.
"The results of these candidates have been processed and published with the other candidates."
