Jurgen Klopp thinks the Divock Origi has now been chosen to Liverpool – and has promised to make the most of the striker.

Origi signed a new long-term agreement earlier this month, less than a year after being on the verge of leaving the club after spending the previous campaign on loan at Wolfsburg.

The Belgian international became a key figure in the final weeks of last season, scoring important goals in the Champions League semifinal win over Barcelona and the final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Origi was in good shape during the pre-season and scored goals in successive matches of the American round against Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon.

And Klopp described the transformation that allowed this 24-year-old to revitalize his career in Liverpool.

"Divock took a decisive step in the final weeks of last season and deserved it," Klopp told ECHO.

Klopp and Origi celebrate

"Not only because he's trained, it's as if (the problems he's been experiencing) have escaped him."

"Since he had this injury (against Everton in April 2016), it was just a preview here and there. But then we were training and you saw it – Divock is back. This is the Divock Origi that the whole world wanted. "

In 2016, Origi scored in both rounds of the Europa League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund.

And Klopp added: "If you could ask at that time the clubs after the game outside Dortmund" Divock Origi, do you want it? "There would have been a lot of clubs.

"That's the situation now. Now, we have to help it. He looks completely good, signed his new contract, conscious decision, everything is fine. A new signature! "
