SICK Arsenal fans scoffed at Ryan Shawcross after the Stoke City skipper appeared to have broken his leg during the friendly match with Leicester City.

Supporters of gunners claimed that the central defender had been wounded in "karma" because he had broken Aaron Ramsey's leg nine years ago.

Shawcross, 31, battled Foxes winger Marc Albrighton just before the break in Stoke's preseason game.

He won the ball with his right foot, but his trailing left leg buckled alarmingly under him with replays confirming the severity of his injury.

In February 2010, the former Arsenal player, Ramsey, 28, was found with a double fracture in his leg after a terrible tackle from Shawcross.

The Welsh has broken the shin and fibula – and has been sidelined for more than a year.

The former Stoke player, Dave Kitson, then confided to the Sun that the animosity between Tony Pulis and Arsene Wenger was partly responsible for the horror incident.

And now, seeing Shawcross suffer, many vengeful supporters of Arsenal went on Twitter to mock the central defender, claiming that his injury did justice to Ramsey.

"Ryan Shawcross just broke his leg and you can find me on all the Stoke City football club forums."

While another said: "Ryan Shawcross deserves justice to Ramsey."

A third tweeted: "Karma is a … Ryan Shawcross, the man who broke Ramsey's leg."

And one of them wrote: "First the news of Pepe, now Ryan Shawcross breaking his leg, an unreal day for Gooners."

But some Gooners were disgusted by the mockery, with one writing: "I know that some Arsenal fans are celebrating this Shawcross It's broken leg but no player deserves it honestly. "
