One of the biggest questions fans had to ask Avengers: End of the game Was: How will Marvel end the story of Steve Rogers? Naturally, his friends of the present get upset when they realize something is wrong. Spotting an old Steve sitting at the edge of a nearby lake, Bucky gently tells Sam Wilson to go see him. It's then that Steve pbades Shield to Sam, shocked, who ends up agreeing to continue fighting for what Steve has spent many years protecting.
In an interview with Kevin Polowy of Yahoo Entertainment, the Bucky actor, Sebastian Stan, said that if you consider his character's arc in the MCU, have Bucky become Captain America only would not feel right. Of course, this happened in comics, but the MCU had no qualms about changing origins, removing stories, and creating characters from scratch.
