The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, said that the successful implementation of the Free High High School (SHS) program and the cautious measures put in place to meet the challenges that ensue have left the critics unmistakable.
"Many doubted that we could deploy the free SHS promised to Ghanaians. Many people, especially those from the opposition, said that it was only a promise to win votes, but I also told them that this is not the case. was not for the votes but for my determination to create a strong human resource base for the country.
"After successfully implementing the free SHS, they have nothing to tell. I expected them to come and congratulate me, but they are silent. The truth has been separated from the lies, "he added.
Addressing residents of Cape Coast on Thursday as part of his three-day visit to the Central Region, the President said that from September this year, every Ghanaian child, from KG to SHS, would benefit from a free education.
According to him, the intervention would propel Ghana on the path of progress and development.
In addition, he said, the One District One Factory concept would also bring economic empowerment to the people of Ghana, noting that only the phase of industrialization would allow the country to achieve the desired development.
He said his government remains committed to creating jobs for the many unemployed in the country.
President Akufo Addo has identified a number of road projects to be undertaken in the Cape Coast metropolis as part of the first phase of the Synodro project, which included the Ayifua, Apewosika, Ankaful, Kwaprow, Ebubonko and Bessakrom roads.
He called on the people of Cape Coast to prepare adequately to accommodate the many Africans from the diaspora who would be visiting for the year of return, so that they always want to come back.
