Four aspirants picked up forms to challenge in Odododiodio constituency
Only six days after the opening of nominations for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the "orphan" constituencies of the country, political stakes are high in Odododiodio, one of the hottest constituencies in the Greater Accra region. .
Indeed, a former parliamentary candidate, a former member of Parliament and two new entrants all tie their shoes to win the position of party representative in the 2020 elections.
Those who declared their intention to dispute the primaries are the 2016 election candidate, Nii Lantey Bannerman, who is now Executive Secretary of the Fuel Committee for Premix; Reginald Nii Bi, Lawyer, Aryee Bontey, Former Member of Parliament for the constituency; boxing promoter and a businessman, Michael Nii Yarboi Annan and a Rev Atwere who is based in the United States.
The winner will face the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NEC), who is also the outgoing MP from the constituency, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, who will not be competing for the third time in a row.
The NPP occupies 20 of the 33 seats in the Greater Accra region, leaving the remaining 13 seats in the main Democratic National Congress.
The spokesman of Michael Nii Yarboi Annan, who is also the former secretary of the constituency of Odododiodio, Samuel Ofosu, in an interview with Yen Sempa, of Onua FM, presented Friday by Bright Kwasi Asempa, explaining why his boss had decided to go into politics politics is a vocation.

Mr Ofosu revealed that most members of the NPP in the constituency were afraid to go to the center of the Odododiodio coalition. Yet, Yarboi Annan was there in 2016 to ensure the success of the coalition of the results of the presidential and legislative elections.

Party arrangements
Nominations for the parliamentary primaries of the NPP in the "orphan" constituencies of the country were opened on Saturday, July 20 and will end on August 3, 2019. Four candidates have already chosen forms in the constituency of Odododiodio.
Orphan constituencies refer to ridings where the current MP is not part of the NPP.
On September 28, 2019, the party will proceed to the election of the candidates for the deputies in these constituencies.
According to the party's secretary general, John Boadu, a candidate in a parliamentary election would choose nomination forms for a non-refundable fee of 2,000 GH at the Bankers Draft.
To successfully file a nomination form, a candidate will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of GH ¢ 20,000.
However, in order to encourage more women, youth and people with disabilities to aspire to higher political office, candidate candidates for asylum, said the party, will benefit from a discount of 50 % on the deposit fee, which means that they will be required to: pay a non-refundable deposit fee of GH ¢ 10,000.
