Leo Duarte is expected to join AC Milan, Serie A team, after Flamengo head coach Jorge Jesus confirmed "everything is done".
Flamengo defender Duarte was linked to Milan and his Italian rivals after impressing the Brazilian club.
But Milan is on the verge of concluding a five-year contract with Duarte for 11 million euros.
"I'm sure Duarte will become a Milan player, everything is over," Jesus told Radio Brazil after Sunday's 3-2 win over Botafogo.
"He is preparing for his move to Europe and I wish him the best."
Duarte has made nearly 100 appearances with Flamengo since his debut in 2016. The 23-year-old centerback has scored two goals.
He is about to become the last player to trade Flamengo against Milan after Lucas Paqueta's transfer of 35 million euros in January.
It was a busy season for Milan, who appointed Marco Giampaolo as head coach after the departure of Gennaro Gattuso.
Milan signed Theo Hernandez and Rade Krunic, while Ignazio Abate, Cristian Zapata and Riccardo Montolivo all left at the end of their contract.
While Patrick Cutrone is about to join the Wolves, Milan is about to sign Lille striker Rafael Leao and Angel Correa of Atletico Madrid.
