On Sanjay Dutt's holiday Monday, Prasthanam filmmakers unveiled the film's teaser. The short teaser looks like an epic political drama unfolding in contemporary times.
While the little movie of more than a minute opens, we see a door open and Sanjay Dutt emerging from behind. His voiceover sets the tone of the band when he says, "Haq doge to Ramayan shuru hogi, chhinoge toh Mahabharat." The following is a montage of film footage – we see Manisha Koirala, Chunky Pandey, Jackie Shroff, Ali Faizal and Amyra Dastur appear through it. There is a lot of violence; we also feel that somewhere in the movie, Sanjay Dutt becomes a politician.

Prasthanam is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. Sharwanand and Sai Kumar played a leading role in the original edition of 2010. The film was directed by Deva Kutta, who also directed the original film.
Deva Kutta told PTI that Sanjay Dutt had long wanted to tell the story of Prasthanam to a Hindu public. He said: "Sanjay Dutt is interested in the project, which was taking place in 2011-2012 within two years of its publication. In the meantime, he went to jail and then came back and the rest of the film was pbadionate about the film. I was interested in the intensity of the interest from his side. Incidentally, the film was produced by Sanjay Dutt Productions.
The Telugu film tells the story of a politician and the complex relationships that prevail in his family. Deva Kutta explained in more detail that the basic story would remain intact. "Basically, the story undergoes no change, if it is to refine and polish the canvas, and so on. It's very relevant. I've rewritten the script, the dialogues were provided by Farhad. "
