Barnabas Aggerh is the fastest at GNPC Ghana, the fastest human in Accra

Barnabas Aggerh, of Accra Technical University, was proclaimed Saturday winner of the fastest Accra 100meters Open Human Accra race event organized by GNPC in Ghana at Legon Sports Stadium.

He clocked 10.30 seconds to beat seasoned Desmond Aryee of the Greater Accra region, who ran 10.50 seconds, with Musah Iddris coming in third in 10.51 seconds.

Kate Agyeman of the Ashanti region won the senior 100-meter race in 11.3 seconds, followed by Latifa Ali of UCC at 11.6 seconds and Mariam Domfe also of the Ashanti region at 12.2 seconds.

Mr. Anselm Sowah, CEO of GCB Bank, special guest of the event, congratulated the organizer, Reks Brobbey, the winners and the participants. He said that athletics was a pbadion and that those who love running should be encouraged to do it better to carry the name and flag of Ghana.

Dr. Kwama Baah Nuako, Sustainability Manager at GNPC, also encouraged the young athlete to strive to become a track and field superstar. He said that combining athletics and education is a good thing and urged the athletes who are most likely to do their best to become responsible citizens.

Reks Brobbey thanked the Ghana Fastest Human sponsors including GNPC, Adidas, GCB, Wrenco, Moringa King Indomie, Kriate Lync, Pippas Gym and Global Media Alliance. The grand finale of 2019 will be held in Kumasi on September 7th.
