Uber fired about 400 employees from its global marketing team on Monday, the New York Times reports.
Employees come from 75 Uber offices around the world and the team's workforce is reduced by more than 1,200, according to the report.
The layoffs are part of Uber's efforts to streamline operations and reduce expenses, the Times reports. Uber went public in May, revealing that he had lost about a billion dollars in the first three months of the year.
Uber was not immediately available to comment.
