Ms. Pelosi is a member of the Democratic Party. She has been President of the US House of Representatives since January 2019.

According to Wikipedia, Ms. Pelosi is the only woman to have held this position and the highest woman elected in the history of the United States.

As Speaker of the House, she is second in the line of presidential succession, immediately after the vice president.

First elected to Congress in 1987, Pelosi is currently in his 17th term as a member of Congress, representing the 12th District of California Congress (since 2013), which includes four-fifths of the city and county from San Francisco.

It originally represented the 5th district (1987-1993), then when the district boundaries were redefined after the 1990 census, the eighth district (1993-2013).
