BOURNEMOUTH & # 39; S Dan Gosling faces a three-month layoff following an abnormal injury.
Dynamo midfielder Gosling detached a muscle from his hip and was operated on to repair the damage.
The 29-year-old caught the injury in training and went under the knife on the weekend.
This is bad news for Eddie Howe, former Everton's former player being now absent for some of the opening games of the Cherries.
Hit on the effect
Gosling missed the last two games of last season and may not be in the first team until November.
The English had played pre-season matches against AFC Wimbledon and Girona and seemed to be part of Howe's plans.
But this latest news could affect other members of the team.
Harry Arter had been linked to a move to Fulham, but with the Gosling absent for months rather than weeks, the young boss of the Cherries could be forced to keep the Irishman.
The midfielder was wanted by brother-in-law Scott Parker, but he may have to stay on the south coast for now.
Bournemouth starts his Premier League campaign with a trip to Sheffield United, the new boy, on August 10th.
