Boris Johnson Appoints Nigerian Minister | Policy

Nigeria's Olukemi Olufunto Badenoch was named the new Minister of Children and Family on Saturday, July 27 by the new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Olukemi, a British Conservative politician and Saffron Walden MP, arrived in the UK at the age of 16. A 39-year-old computer and computer engineer, he studied systems engineering at the University of Susbad and has a law degree. She is the mother of two children and previously worked in the banking sector for Coutts and RBS.

British politician born in Nigeria tweeted accepting the new appointment;

I am honored to have been appointed deputy minister of DfE. A great privilege to serve and make a positive difference on a number of issues that are important to me. I look forward to working with the ministerial team and everyone at @educationgovuk
