Police in Phnom Penh, together with the Dangkor District Police, on Sunday arrested three Nigerians suspected of trafficking 21 kg of crystal meth in Boeng Tumpon II.

Colonel Chim Sitha, police chief of Dangkor District, identified them as: Maduka Jona Schibudo, 35, Davis Candkwdo, 30, and Obiesie Chika Odinaka Chiemerie, 25.

Col Sitha reported that they were arrested Sunday around 8 pm after the municipal drug police, in collaboration with the Dangkor District Police, broke into a room at the Tony Pension, located in the village of Tnaot Chrum IV, in Boeng Tumpon II commune, Meanchey district.

Col Sitha said that on the day of his arrest, around 5 pm, the owner of the guest house had alerted the police about these men, suspected of having hidden drugs in their room. rental.

"They were arrested in flagrante delicto after the police raided a room at a hotel in Boeng Tumpon II commune where they were staying," Col Sitha said. "After the raid and their arrests, the police seized 21 large packages of crystal meth weighing nearly 21 kilograms, three pbadports, four phones and other drug-related materials."

Lieutenant General Sar Thet, police chief of Phnom Penh, said yesterday that the suspects were being detained at the Phnom Penh City Police for questioning.

General Thet added that they would be sent to the municipal court for re-examination once the police had completed his investigation.

"The police are now interrogating them to identify and arrest a leader or other suspect related to the case in order to punish him in accordance with the law," said General Thet. "The police are still working hard on this case."

General Thet stated that the suspects are accused of drug possession and trafficking and that they face a life sentence if they are found guilty.
