The clutter occurred in front of the Wren's Nest pub, according to West Mercia police

A 15-year-old boy who suffered "life-altering" injuries in a mess outside a pub plays for the Stoke City Championship Club Academy.

Officers were called to the Wren Nest in Ketley, Telford, on Saturday.

The injured teenager is reported to have suffered a serious eye injury.

A 37-year-old man, suspected of serious bodily harm and violent disorder, was arrested. A 32-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of violent disturbances.

West Mercia police said Monday that the two men were in custody and that the boy had been released from the hospital.

Police said that a number of people were involved in the mess and that officers were using them to identify them all.

The police used witnesses, or anyone with dashcam images, to come forward.

Stoke City declined to comment.
