BRUNO FERNANDES would captain Sporting Lisbon against Benfica on Sunday before finishing his transfer to Manchester United.
He is waiting for the decision to be made for the upcoming new season with United, who is ready for a last week of unrestrained transfers.
According to the Portuguese media A Bola and Record, Fernandes, 24, will lead his club against his rivals Lisbon during the Super Cup of Estadio Algarve.
Given that it is a derby match and the season is coming, Sporting boss Marcel Keizer wants his star to be focused on his rivals in the city and refuses to drop his preparation for the season.
After being eliminated, Fernandes burst into tears this weekend, during his team's 2-1 defeat against Valencia at Estadio Jose Alvalade, thinking it was his last chance to play in the stadium.
Despite Fernandes' presence on Sunday, an agreement would be close between United and the Portuguese club for an estimated GBP 52 million.
United is also following Harry Maguire, which could cost the club 80 million pounds.
And, as reported last night, United and Juventus are negotiating for a more cash deal for Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team dominated but struggled to bring down the stubborn Norwegian Kristiansund to Oslo last night, needing Juan Mata's last-minute penalty for the win.
