Several workers laid off from the Obuasi mine in Anglogold Ashanti have bypbaded the Accra headquarters for unpaid compensation.
The workers concerned, allegedly fired between 2013 and 2014, surrounded the office at Gold House in Accra.
Dressed in red clothes, angry workers called for an immediate meeting with Kelvin Dushnisky, president and CEO of the company, from July 29 to August 1, 2019.

The protesters added that they were ready to occupy the front of the building until their grievances were addressed.
Referring to themselves as a group of displaced workers from 2013-2014 of the Ashanti Ghana Limited mine (Obuasi), they indicated that their long-standing agreement with the company had not been respected .
For this reason, they continued, they experience unbearable difficulties since the loss of their job.
The leader of the group, Alex Frimpong, revealed that about 400 of them had lost their lives since they had lost their jobs.
At the same time, the Motor Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has donated a mobile registration vehicle to Citi TV, in support of the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) campaign.
YEN.com.gh understands that the van must facilitate the registration and renewal of driver's licenses.
The details of this agreement were revealed following a meeting between officials of Citi TV and the DVLA on Monday, July 29, 2019.
According to Prince Opoku Adusei, Deputy Director General of the DVLA, the authority noted an increase in the number of motorists wishing to renew their expired licenses.
