The city of Swansea has agreed to pay fees to Dutch club Heracles for Swedish international striker Kristoffer Peterson.
Swansea has accepted an initial offer of about £ 500,000 for Peterson, which could then reach £ 1 million.
Peterson scored 12 goals in 34 appearances at Eredivisie last season.
Peterson was in Liverpool where he worked with the Swans boss and former director of the Reds Academy, Steve Cooper.
He is above all a winger but can also play at the front.
Swansea has been looking for offensive players since the sale of Dan James to Manchester United in June.
The championship club could also lose Oli McBurnie, their top scorer of 24 goals last season, against Sheffield United.
Swansea is expected to land at Peterson for a reduced fare, his contract with Heracles being running in a year.
The 6-foot-1 player spent three and a half years in Liverpool before Brendan Rodgers, boss of Anfield, sold it in Utrecht in 2014.
He had played senior English football during a loan period at Tranmere, but established himself in the Netherlands.
Peterson scored three times in 30 matches for Utrecht and also borrowed from Roda JC before moving to Heracles in January 2017.
The 24-year-old is expected to join his compatriots Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Joel Asoro in Swansea.
