Vice-Chancellor of the STE, the Reverend p. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni
The applicant in a case against Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and Kingsley University Amoakwah withdrew the case.
The speaker challenged the legitimacy of Vice Chancellor Reverend Professor Anthony Afful-Broni.
When the High Court of Winneba, presided over by Sa Ladyship, called the case today, the applicant, through his lawyer, brought to the attention of the judge a notice to terminate the case against VC and UEW.
The first to second defendant's attorney, Paa Kwasi Abaidoo, sought costs and requested the court that, as a condition precedent, the plaintiff be required to pay all costs before being allowed to sue.
The presiding judge pointed out that the applicant's right to seek redress could not be withdrawn. The cost against him will suffice.
As a result, the judge in her marriage, Janapare, sentenced Mr. Kingsley Amoakwah to a sum of 5,000 ¢ to be paid to UEW.
It will be recalled that Mr. Amoakwah's request, which inter alia was to prevent the VC from presenting himself as such or from performing such duties as an institution of the second defendant, was wrongly taken as an injunction by licensed staff headed by Mawutor Avoke, former VC of UEW.
Professor Mawutor Avoke then stormed the university with fired staff and sympathizers to stage what the university authorities described as "a failed state coup." of Rambo "to announce their return and resumption of the university last Tuesday. This created a state of fear and panic at the university.
