A judge overturned a defamation suit against Roger Ver, one of the first bitcoin investors, filed by Satoshi Nakamoto's plaintiff, Craig Wright.

Wright alleged that Ver had defamed him in a YouTube published in mid-April, in which Ver denounced Wright's claim to be the unnamed creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. The video was also posted on Twitter.

According to court documents released Wednesday, Judge Sir Matthew Nicklin stated that Wright had not provided sufficient justification for the trial to be supervised by the High Court of England and Wales. Citing both Wright's international reputation and the global Bitcoin community, the court concluded that there was "no objective evidence" of Wright's reputation in England.

"The evidence clearly shows that the most important publication of the incriminated statements is in the United States," the court said. As a result, according to the documents, only 7% of the video audience was in the UK.

In addition, the court concluded that "there was no evidence of damage to the reputation that the Claimant would have suffered as a result of the defendant's publications".

Since he claimed the white paper on Bitcoin, as well as its initial launch and development, Wright denounced cryptocurrency and its current set of developers. In addition, as a result of a controversial bitcoin blockchain fork that creates bitcoin money in 2018 – an action approved by Ver-Wright has announced its own forked currency, bitcoin SV, which represents Satoshi Vision .

Wright's lawsuit against Ver is not the only litigation he has brought against critics. Wright has also filed a defamation suit against podcaster Peter McCormick, and has already threatened to sue Ethereum creator, Vitalik Buterin, and computer security contractor John McAfee.
