According to the latest annual report on roadside rest stops, motorists' satisfaction with highway services is decreasing.
Fewer than three users in five consider food and beverages to be good value for money: this proportion has increased from 64% to 59%.
The overall satisfaction of professional drivers – those who drive for a living – also fell by 5% from a year ago to 83%.

The average satisfaction level of all motorists fell from 92 to 90%.
The numbers are revealed in the Survey of Motorway Users by Transport Focus.
Norton Canes on the M6 toll is considered the best in Britain for the second year in a row, while Severn View, northwest of Bristol on the M48, is considered the worst.
The Motorway Services Online review site describes the fin as follows: "Perhaps the most windy service area we know of.
"Severn View is a historic site and now slightly neglected along the original Severn Bridge."
"Despite its name, it's not actually adjacent to the bridge, the river or the junction of the highway, though it's connected to all three by public trails."
The service area, however, gets a rating of "four burger" out of five.
Thurrock on the M25, last year, is the most improved service of the year.
Britain has 112 motorway service areas, managed by six companies. Four of these companies – Euro Garages, Extra, Roadchef and Welcome Break – saw their satisfaction scores drop. Moto stayed at the same level.
Only the small family business Westmorland improved its satisfaction rate: 86% of visitors were "very satisfied" compared to only 38% for Euro Garages.
"Visitors to Westmorland are the most likely to stop there before leaving," the survey says.
It reveals that the average motorist drove for an hour and a half before stopping for a 20-minute break.
