The trial of NAM1 opened in a circuit court in Accra where, with his wife Rose Tetteh and his sister Benedicta Appiah, both released, are the subject of 13 counts of fraud, money laundering money, death sentence and deposit. take business without a permit.

Its companies – Menzgold Ghana Limited and Brew Marketing Consult Limited – have also been charged with seven counts of fraud under false pretenses and the exploitation of unlicensed deposits.

NAM1 pleaded not guilty and the court chaired by Jane Harriet Akweley Quaye granted him a bond of 1 billion GH ¢ (about 185 million dollars) with five sureties, three of which to justify.

In addition, the court ordered him to report to the police every Wednesday.

In the meantime, a statement issued by his company indicated that last Friday, when the bond had been granted, his team was able to obtain the five sureties and that the three defendants had also submitted various documents to prove their ownership.

It stated that the documents covering the properties had been submitted to the Lands Commission and that it was conducting a search to ensure that the properties used belonged to the sureties and had the value of the terms of the bond.

"As we speak, the team has submitted all three properties to the ground. Research, validation and evaluation are ongoing, "said the statement.

He said that once the validation was done, his legal team would go to the clerk of the court to execute the bond.
