Consumer price growth in South Korea remained in a range of zero percent for the seventh consecutive month in July.
Statistics Korea data show that consumer prices rose from zero to six percent year-over-year last month.
This is the longest period of price growth below one percent … since the period from February to November in 2015.
Fruit and vegetable prices fell six to four percent year-over-year, while petroleum product prices dropped five to nine percent.
Statistics Korea has described the current trend of "disinflation", due to external factors such as climate change and lower energy prices, rather than a weak demand.
