Lyme disease is a bacterial infection of the tick bones that can be transmitted to humans when bitten by an infected tick. It is a relatively unknown disease, but it is increasing, with new cases every day in the UK. Lyme disease can be effectively treated if it is detected early, but if it is not treated, it causes very serious health problems. What makes the disease alarming is the ease with which it can be contracted. What are the symptoms and what to do if you see a tick on your skin?

Dr. Hilary said, "It has already been reported that there were 3,000 new cases of Lyme disease in the UK when in reality there are more than 8,000 new cases of the disease. and that his progress is fast.

"The disease is caused by living in grbady and woody areas and a person can be stung when she takes a break, walks or walks her pets.

"London parks have also reported seeing more cases of people affected."

Lyme disease is caused by four major species of bacteria.

Lyme disease is transmitted by the bite of an infected blacklegged tick, commonly known as deer tick.

Dr. Hilary explained, "Ticks break down a person's skin, causing serious illness. The first symptoms resemble those of the flu.

"Some people develop a rash that looks like a bubble. The rash appears three months after being bitten.

"Seeing a rash makes things easier because you can diagnose earlier, but only one-third of people with the condition reported seeing a rash.

"The problem of Lyme disease in the UK is that it is difficult to diagnose. Blood tests do not always take it.

"The disease is not well treated by the NHS because many specialists do not know how to treat it after the early stages.

"Symptoms include headaches, pain and skin irritation, and if you are caught early, you will be prescribed antibiotics for three weeks.

Only a minority of tick bites leads to Lyme disease. The longer the tick is attached to the skin, the higher the risk of contracting the disease.

Lyme infection is unlikely if the tick is attached less than 36 hours to 48 hours.

Dr. Hillary said, "If you see the tick on your skin, you should remove it as soon as possible, put it under your mouth and gently remove it.

"You have to be careful when you do this because you could leave part of your mouth still embedded in your skin."

Fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, stiff neck and lymph nodes are other symptoms to watch for.

"If you walk in the wooded and grbady areas, it is advisable to wear long pants and put it in your socks so that the skin is not exposed to the bite.

"You should check for the presence of ticks in your pets and your kids, it's really a nasty disease," Dr. Hilary added.
