The delegation, which included about 30 members of the badembly from sub-metros of South Okaikoi, South Ablekuma and Ashiedu Keteke, was led by AMA President Alfred Adjei.
Mr. Adjei said the purpose of the visit was to have members of the badembly recognize the enormous role played by Mr. Kufuor in consolidating the country's local governance system and benefit from his rich experience in local governance.

Mr. Kufuor urged members of the badembly to consider their position as direct representatives of the local population as a powerful power and to hold them to account by ensuring that they approve policies that meet their needs.
He urged them to consider themselves not only as representatives of the people, but also as people who solve problems, because "you live with the people and you understand their problems better than the parliamentarian who can only visit them periodically" .
Mr. Kufuor also urged them to refrain from soliciting offers from the badembly leaders as such practices could compromise their ability to hold accounts.

For his part, Adjei extolled the former president for his significant contribution to the development of the country's local governance system, even before he became president.
