Patrick Hoagland of Phoenix, a licensed father in a metal recycling company as forklift operator, has had his chance with thousands of job offers after he decided to give his resume to the edge of the road with signage.
He filled in online applications and distributed CVs to local businesses, but received no response.
He decided that he had to do something different and decided to stand at the corner of a street with a sign.
"I had only been unemployed for a few weeks, but it was very unexpected and I had to find a solution quickly," Hoagland, 30, wrote in an email.
"At first I laughed and thought it was silly, but I kept thinking about it. I thought, why not ?! There are millions of people in Phoenix who drive, someone could hire me. "
He printed 200 copies of his resume and went to the street looking for work. Melissa DiGianfilippo saw her while she was crossing Phoenix.

"I was impressed by Patrick because it was 110 ° out and what I saw was really unexpected," DiGianfilippo wrote in an email.

DiGianfilippo owns a marketing and public relations agency and was impressed by his creativity. She took a copy of her curriculum vitae.
She noticed that her experience did not suit her agency but decided to share her resume on social networks to see if someone from her network could help her.

Shortly after, Hoagland received thousands of company messages, subcontractors, recruiters and even people wishing him good luck, not to mention more job offers than ever before. 39, he could not have waited.

"I certainly hoped that he would get a good job as the job manager, but I certainly did not expect him to explode this way!" DiGianfilippo said.
"The LinkedIn release is what really took off the most, generating thousands and thousands of re-shares, reactions and tastes, and I posted it as a story on Instagram that sparked a ton of news. And people wanting to contact him, on Facebook and on Twitter, I am so amazed by the number of people who shared the post because they really wanted to be part of a positive story. "
After reviewing all the offers, Hoagland finally agreed to grind Flatline concrete in Phoenix.
He met owner Kerry Burkhart and immediately realized that his business suited him perfectly.

Hoagland and DiGianfilippo stayed in touch and he updated it throughout his trip. DiGianfilippo could easily have gone ahead and not act, but she is happy to have done so, and Hoagland could not be more grateful.
"She was so great that she did not need to help me, but she did and it changed my life." he said. "I'm very grateful to him."
