The NaBCo recruits were inaugurated in October 2018
The leadership of the Nation Builder Corps (NaBCo) has dismissed the plans of some trainees to protest Monday for unpaid claims.
According to NABCo public relations officer Iddrisu Tahiru, some trainees had problems with their e-zwich cards because their banks had been consolidated by the Bank of Ghana.
According to Iddrisu Tahiru, all trainees who had banks consolidated by the BoG had to obtain new e-zwich cards updated from their respective banks.
He added that the demonstration planned by the NaBCo staff was useless.
Iddrisu Tahiru asked why the NABCo staff would like to embark on a demonstration while the program management also informed them of the latest developments.
Mr. Tahiru further revealed that plans were already underway to pay the benefits.
"So the problem is that these trainees have received their e-zwich from consolidated banks. Thus, their e-zwich cards have become inactive. So NaBco tried to pay them but we could not pay them, so we sent them messages to get new e-zwich cards. Some have done so and we have asked them to come back to the portal and update their e-zwich cards we are about to clear them now. "
"I do not understand some of our trainees … It's very useless, why are you showing? Every step we took, we kept them informed.
Earlier this week, NaBCO trainees threatened to go to a peaceful street on Monday if the government did not settle their arrears.
