The Frenchman, who played at Stamford Bridge, will join Petr Cech and Frank Lampard on their return to West London next season
Claude Makelele will be returning to Chelsea's training base in Cobham tomorrow, as he returns to the Blues as a new young technical mentor.
Makelele's new job will focus on the club's young talents as well as the players loaned by the club. He will also have an ambbadadorial role for Chelsea.
According to Chelsea's website, 17 players have been under contract with the club, currently on loan elsewhere.

The former French international will have a job similar to that of Petr Cech on the management team. Cech also returns to the club in a technical role after playing at Stamford Bridge with distinction.
Another ex-Blue is part of the staff as manager since Frank Lampard, the top scorer of the club, is in charge of the first team.
None of the three men has any experience in his new Premier League roles, although Lampard led Derby County to the championship last season, leading the Rams to the playoff final where they were defeated by Aston Villa.
Makelele works primarily as a coach since he ended his playing career as a member of Paris Saint-Germain in 2011.
He traded his pitch for a canoe in Paris and became an badistant coach from 2011 to 2013 alongside Paul Clement. He then had a season in charge in Bastia in 2014.
After a period of technical leadership in Monaco, the ex-midfielder resurfaced on the bench, as Clement's badistant at Swansea City in 2017. After leaving Wales, he is came to Belgium to coach Eupen, a post he will leave to take Chelsea.
Makelele played for France in the 2006 World Cup final race as part of his international career of 71 caps.

During his club career, he has represented six clubs, including Real Madrid, as well as Chelsea and PSG.
He played 144 games with the West London club and won two consecutive titles alongside Cech and Lampard in 2005 and 2006.
The trio's return comes at a tumultuous time at Stamford Bridge, the club facing a transfer ban that forbids them to buy new players for two windows.
