Tottenham's latest transfer rumors: Rejected candidacy for star midfielder, club deflection for defender

There is less than a week left in the window of transfers – and Tottenham still hopes to conclude some additional contracts.

The Spurs have already signed Leeds Clarke of Leeds United and Tanguy Ndombele for a club record, but the Lilywhites continue to be linked to a number of players.

As such, there could still be multiple entries and exits.

Below, we examine the latest transfer rumors involving players who could arrive – and leave.

Giovani Lo Celso

According to the Spanish Deportes point of sale, Real Betis's Giovani Lo Celso has signed a personal agreement with Tottenham, but so far the two sides remain separate as to the transfer costs.

Betis would like the agreement to be concluded quickly before the transfer deadline.

Toby Alderweireld

The Roma have not abandoned the pursuit of Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, according to Sky Sports.

The Belgian international has seen a £ 25 million release clause in its contract expire on Friday and the Spurs have not yet received any offers for this 30 – year – old man.

However, the report says that Roma are still eager to land the experienced defender who has just entered the last 12 months of his contract.

Bruno Fernandes

The Spurs reportedly sent a club official to Lisbon to negotiate an agreement on midfielder Sporting Bruno Fernandes, but this offer was rejected for the 24-year-old.

Fernandes could be an alternative to Giovani Lo Celso for the Spurs, while Real Betis hangs at 75 million euros for the Argentine international.

The Portuguese point of sale Record indicates that the meeting with the Spurs representatives at the club's headquarters in Lisbon ended at 5.30 pm and that the Premier League club received an offer lower than the price requested by Sporting to the tune of 70 million euros, rejected.

A new meeting between the two clubs could apparently occur in the coming days. Manchester United are also interested in Fernandes, but no offer has yet been made by the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team.
