The leaders of Real Madrid have given up calling on Paul Pogba this summer – but Zinedine Zidane is not happy with that.

Zidane is a big fan of his countryman Pogba, linked to a Manchester United start this summer.

However, United will not let it go for less than nine digits, with some reports claiming that it is estimated at 150 million pounds.

This asking price, according to Marca, convinced Real Madrid officials to abandon their lawsuits and consider alternatives.

Spanish newspaper says Madrid is now interested in Ajax midfielder Donny Van De Beek, which at 54 million pounds is a much cheaper solution – and is also ahead of Spurs' Christian Eriksen on their wish list.

Zidane, however, would still prefer to sign Pogba, and is ready to play a waiting game until both clubs get along.

Marca warn that Pogba is unlikely to leave Man Utd however; even if they sign Bruno Fernandes and Sergej Milinkovic-Savicthey will maintain their demand for 150 million pounds.

Moreover, Madrid will not be able to make new recruits before unloading James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale.
