The Baltimore Police Department said it was investigating reports of a robbery occurring in the block where the congressman lives at 4 am Saturday.

Police did not reveal whether any property had been removed from his home, which belongs to Mr. Cummings, according to CNN affiliate, WJZ.

Trump has launched repeated attacks on Cummings and the city of Baltimore, describing the predominantly black city as a "living hell", "very dangerous and dirty" and "more remote and dangerous" than in some places at the US-Mexico border. .

The president suggested that the Democrat use his role as chairman of the House's oversight committee to "investigate himself," claiming that billions of dollars had been sent to fight crime and boost the economy of the country. Baltimore "stolen or wasted".

He also wrote that "the city's figures are the worst in the United States in terms of crime and the economy."

The best Capitol Democrats have reprimanded the president's "racist attacks" on Mr. Cummings.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said her colleagues were "a congressional and country champion for civil rights and economic justice, a beloved leader in Baltimore and a valued colleague."

She added, "We reject all racist attacks against him and support his resolute leadership."

Mr. Trump also criticized the civil rights activist Al Sharpton for 25 years and became his friend, before calling him "troublemaker" and saying that he "hates whites and cops", while by not providing any evidence to support.
