Tamale, August 2, GNA – Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi,
Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI), has started a nine-day tour and
visit to some offices of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and border posts
in the northern, western western and savannah regions.
This is to allow the CGI to gather
first-hand information on office and border activities and
learn about operational challenges in these areas.
The visit to the regions, planned to start
from July 30 to August 7, 2019, the CGI tour was approved and
unapproved roads along the borders with Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire and
Togo in these regions.
This was in a press release
issued by the GIS and signed by the Deputy Superintendent of Immigration,
Ms. Gifty Amgborme, GIS Public Relations Officer in the Ashanti Region, and

The statement said that the CGI tour was
necessary since the GIS deployed a second batch of trained border patrollers
