The New York Department of Health will spray pesticides in parts of eastern Queens during the night of August 6-7 to reduce mosquito activity and the risk of West Nile virus.
Low concentrations of Anvil 10 + 10 and / or DeltaGard will be distributed by trucks in parts of Bellerose Manor, Douglaston, Glen Oaks and Little Neck. The approximate boundaries of the spray are Cross Island Parkway to the west; North Boulevard North; Little Neck Parkway, Long Island Expressway, Hewlett Street; Limit of Queens-Nbadau County, Lakeview Road and Langdale Street in the east; and Hillside Avenue to the south.
The spray will begin Tuesday between 20:30 and 20:30. and 6 am the next morning, weather permitting. In case of bad weather, spraying will be delayed until August 7th or 8th.
Pesticides will also be deployed in parts of Auburndale, Bay Terrace, Beechhurst, Clearview, College Point, Fort Totten, Linden Hill, Malba and Whitestone. The approximate boundaries are Flushing Bay in the west; East River to the north; Little Neck Bay in the east; and 28th Avenue, Bell Boulevard, 26th Avenue, Utopia Drive, Crocheron Avenue, Boulevard du Nord, 150th Street, Willets Point Blvd., 25th Avenue and Whitestone Expressway to the south.
