"The music is not as well received as it should be, I've earned the right to release an album and I really want to have a project where people will listen to each song, I'll release those songs, and I'll I hope this will lead to an album. "
Speaking of albums, you wrote Bigger on Beyoncé's new album, The Lion King: The Gift. How does such an opportunity come about?
"It's a crazy way to do that, I was in Ghana at the time with a big Afrobeats producer called Guilty, we had a lot of Ghanaian artists from the west coast doing songs for a side project. Some songs ended up joining Beyonce's team and they reached out: I was invited to participate in this important writing process, and then we entered the studio.
"I wrote a lot of songs – I put a change in. But she fell in love with Bigger. It's an artist who can really say something with this song, we were so excited. It's a beautiful message and I think everyone can appreciate feeling insignificant at some point in their lives. It was an amazing experience. "
So how many songs have you actually projected on Beyoncé, and could they be used for your own project?
"Maybe 25? They were not all written during these studio sessions and some were written for the purpose of my artist project.I think they're all fluids, so I would not be surprised to be able to release some of these songs. "
