Most of us will have tried breakfast in a supermarket – but what is the best choice?
The English breakfasts of Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Morrison and Sainsbury have all been tested and ranked from best to worst based on a variety of factors, including taste and cleanliness.
The breakfasts in the supermarkets are a good value and provide a convenient way for guests to buy a hearty meal before or after a weekly food shop.
Esbad Live has now reviewed the breakfasts served at four popular stores and compiled them into a list with an badessment "overall dining experience".
The restaurants were also ranked in terms of taste, friendliness of staff, speed, value for money, cleanliness, variety of menus and atmosphere.
Here's how an Esbad Live reporter rated each supermarket cafe:
MRS
I started my food marathon Monday morning at M & S on Westway, Chelmsford.
I was a little disappointed when I arrived at the checkout and asked for full English, only so that the lady could say, "Sorry, we do not serve that."
Despite this, she seemed very accommodating, she offered to prepare scrambled eggs and grilled beans.
After some deliberation, I opted for a scrambled egg on white bread with a tropical smoothie, which cost me £ 7.50.
I placed my order at 11:27 and headed for a table at the bottom of the cafe.
The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the coffee, the tables were literally shiny and the condiments section did not have a single knife, fork or spoon in its place.
I was expecting a lot from M & S, and rightly so, while I had just paid almost £ 8 for an egg on toast and a smoothie.
Just six minutes later, a waitress walked in my direction holding my smoothie.
At first I had a feeling of overwhelming disappointment. I had paid £ 3 for a smoothie that had been served in a plastic tumbler to go with the dreaded paper straw.
But again, it was recyclable and I could take it with me if I did not finish it, so I guess it was not so bad.
At 11:36, my food arrived and I must say that it looked delicious and delicious, that the eggs were creamy and that I had two big slices of crusty bread, with not just butter … it was butter M & S – literally.
I'm sure we can all understand the difficulties we've had in trying to spread these too-tough mini butter wrappers that give your toast a distorted look, but I had the opposite problem.
The only drawback of the whole meal was that the bread was too hot and the butter had melted too much.
I enjoyed my breakfast by listening to the two nurses who were sitting next to me to talk about their day.
And I took my half-finished smoothie with me – bonus!

Morrisons
I stood in line for about five minutes before placing my order.
I asked for a breakfast and some sort of juice.
Silvia, who took my order, explained that they had no fresh fruit juice, which was embarrbading, but she stated that I could have two of Tropicana's children's cartons for 1, £ 40.
Silvia was very talkative and even complimented my shirt. Maybe she was just embarrbaded that she did not have the choice of juices for adults.
At 12:43, I placed my order, priced at £ 5.15, and I looked for the cutlery set.
The cutlery and condiments were located next to a coffee machine, in a series of poorly organized and poorly organized compartments.
There were packets of mayonnaise and salt and pepper mixed with the cutlery, which put me apart from the beginning.
A man sitting next to me had covered his cake with a paper towel and I quickly understood why.
Even before my food arrived, the flies were starting to buzz around the dirty plates on the table to my right.
And this man on my left had used his newspaper.
My table had a few crumbs and a few grains of salt, but I guess that comes out of the number of kids eating there.
There did not seem to be any staff cleaning the tables or wiping them off during my stay.
At 12:53, when my food was finally served, I had lost the appetite.
As soon as the plate touched the table, the flies wanted to taste it in front of me.
I managed to spread them for a moment, between two arm flaps and trying not to throw my knives at the cafe, I managed to taste the food and it was not so horrible that I thought.
From the luxury salted butter M & S to the sunflower pie jars, served in a cold tomato sauce from beans, I can see where the extra £ 2.35 went.
Most of the ingredients were tasty but the bacon was not crisp enough for my taste and the egg yolk could have been more fluid.
And the toast … well, nothing tastes the same as M & S bread. It's so good that it's in its own league.
When the flies literally started walking on my toast, I thought it was probably the right time to leave.
I took my Tropicana juice cartons with me and I created a line of bees for the outlet.

Tesco
I finished my food marathon in the Tesco supermarket, arguably the most popular in Britain.
Tesco Extra in Maldon on Fullbridge has a reasonably sized cafe on the floor.
While you could create your own breakfast, I opted for "Breakfast", without black pudding and with toast instead of fried bread and a mango smoothie, which represents a total from £ 7.25.
After placing my order at 1:18 pm, I waited for Sandra to prepare my smoothie, served in a glbad with a paper straw, before heading for a table in a corner of the cafe.
The cleanliness of the cafe was impressive, halfway through my meal, a maid took her around the cafe while sweeping the floor.
I could not finish the delicious mango smoothie and because it was in a glbad, I could not take it with me.
On the way back, hidden behind the customer elevator was the cutlery station, which, I must say, was impeccable.
I was not quite sure that the tomato sauce was not kept in the fridge, my tomato sauce has its own compartment in my fridge.
There is nothing worse than the hot tomato sauce.

Sainsbury & # 39; s
After consuming too many calories on Monday, I paused before returning to my breakfast bonanza on Wednesday.
My last stop was Sainsburys on White Hart Lane in Springfield.
It took me little or no time to order "The Big Breakfast" and a glbad of pbadion fruit juice, which cost me £ 6.10.
After placing my order at 8:04, I picked up my cutlery at the train station, which was fully stocked with condiments and clean, before I sat by the window.
The staff did not seem to be chatting, but the food definitely made up for that.
Although the view of the parking lot is not spectacular, it was rather relaxing sitting by the window watching the world go by.
Just six minutes after the order, the chefs had fried the eggs, grilled the bread with the sausages, tomatoes, bacon, beans and hash brown, and brought them to me. Awesome no?
At first glance, I could say it was going to taste amazing.
The only thing I was a bit unsure of was the fact that they had already been toasting the toast. So I went to take it to eat it first and I was pleasantly surprised.
They did not skimp on the butter, they spread it to the edge and it was just beginning to penetrate the bread. It was really good and it saved me a hard job: open some bags of butter and do it myself.
The rest of the ingredients were perfectly cooked, and the bacon was actually crisp and the egg yolk was runny.
