In the 24 hours that followed, Bhasha Mukherjee experienced two very different, agonizing moments.
First of all, the 23-year-old was waiting impatiently to know if she had won the Miss England beauty pageant.
After being crowned with success, she had to focus on her new career as a junior doctor in Boston, Lincolnshire.
It's his first job since obtaining two medical degrees at the University of Nottingham.
"I do not know why I was more nervous," she told Radio 1 Newsbeat. "Was it my first day at a job for which I had studied five years, or discovered the results of Miss England?
"When I won Miss England, I was shocked and I could not believe it … I was completely incredulous behind the scenes."
Bhasha did not want her new job to coincide with her new Miss England title – but it's hard.
"I arrived on the first day to have my breakfast at the canteen and the lady recognized me, she asked me how the competition was going," I told her and she jumped for joy . "
It's been two years since Bhasha is busy because she juggles with her studies with her pbadion for competitions.
"After my GCSE results, I decided I was too boring, I only did studies, so I liked studying.
"I thought I wanted to do something different and wanted to add something more to my life."
She has always loved the performing arts and has created a dance company. Through these contacts, she discovered the world of modeling.
She says that many people have suggested her to participate in contests and that in 2015 she had been approached by the Miss India contest.
"I was in the middle of my first year of medical school and I was too scared to go to India for a month and quit my studies – so I was in school. I refused. "
A year later, she decided to participate in some pageants, but felt that they were unfair and poorly organized.
After a break, Bhasha was pursued in her social media profile in 2017 and was convinced to resume the competition. Two years later, she graduated from university and was crowned Miss England.
She says her advice for people who want to pursue careers and different paths is to write a to-do list.
"It's the most satisfying feeling for people who forget things."
