Ghanaian farmers invited to focus on opportunities and partnerships for larger contracts
Ghanaian exhibitors at the current international fair in Zambia were invited to focus on identifying business opportunities and partnerships that could lead to larger contracts being signed.
Mr. Albert Kbadim Diwura, Deputy Director General of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), who gave this opinion, said that while making sales at the show, this should not detract attention from the prospects larger contracts.

Diwura said Ghana was attending the fair because African countries would need to collaborate further and trade with each other, particularly with regard to the entry into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Diwura said Ghana was looking for win-win opportunities with Zambia and deepened bilateral trade between the two countries with the coming into force of continental free trade in Africa. "We need to work together to maximize business opportunities."
In this sense, he added, Ghana would meet with the Zambian Chamber of Commerce to discuss areas in which the two countries could work together in their mutual interest.
"We are looking at opportunities to do the same and even better, because Ghana is well positioned to do better and serve many African countries with what we have," he said.
The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), with the aim of improving the access of Ghanaian products to African markets, facilitates the participation of 24 exhibitors in the fair.
This is the first time that exhibitors have participated in the Zambian International Fair under the auspices of GEPA.
This measure also aims to present the products made in Ghana as part of the demonstration of Ghana's belief in trade with the countries of the continent.
This follows Ghana's recent selection as host of the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Organized by the Agricultural and Commercial Society of Zambia, the Agriculture and Trade Show will take place from July 31 to August 5, 2019 on the theme: "Embrace Industrial Development".
Over the years, the show has attracted many local and international exhibitors. For the past three or four years, the show has attracted more than 1,000 exhibitors, mostly local. Countries that have shown interest in exhibiting at the show have also been extended to more than 20 countries worldwide, representing more than 100 companies and individuals.
The fair provides a forum for local, regional and international cultural exchange. These exchanges are in areas such as: agriculture, agri-food, trade information and commercial products, respectively. The show offers individuals and enterprising companies opportunities to showcase emerging technologies in the agriculture sector, product innovation and the value-added of commercial products.
Ghana presents a wide variety of artistic expressions of African creativity, skills, beauty and functionality, through craftsmanship, the creation of musical instruments, clothing and textiles, herbal medicine and clothes, as well as black soap and shea butter.
Agricultural products, including yam and cocoa, are also featured.
Exhibitors said the fair, which began slowly Wednesday, should resume the weekend.
Ghana will mark its special day at the fair on Sunday 4 August.
