An exciting new start-up can produce clean energy by spraying piles of waste without waste or emissions.
Sierra Energy aims to combat all non-recyclable waste in landfills, from hazardous waste to plastics to waste and waste.
The company's modified blast furnace uses FastOx gasification technology to heat all waste to 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about twice as hot as the heart of a volcano.
While this may seem to require large amounts of energy, the system is able to generate heat simply by injecting pure oxygen into the furnace. Oxygen then reacts with carbon from rotting waste to create carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The steam is then pumped into the oven to maintain the internal temperature.

The fuel from FastOx technology would be 20 times cleaner than California standards. And all the gases generated by the chemical process are captured for reuse, for example, to replace the fossil fuels that power planes or to be used as fertilizer, hydrogen or ethanol.
Earlier this week, Sierra Energy announced that it had been able to close a $ 33 million Series A investment cycle to further develop and commercialize its technology for municipalities and landfills. so that they can convert their waste into clean, renewable energy and fuels.

The first FastOx trading system was installed in a US military facility at Fort Hunter Liggett, Monterey County, California, in 2017 to meet the Army's zero waste goals.
