Dengue kills 2 others, infects 1649 more

According to UNB, two people died from dengue fever and 1649 new patients were admitted to various hospitals in the country in 24 hours until Saturday morning.

The situation remains alarming, even if the number of infected patients was 38% lower than Friday, out of 1,687.

In Sirajganj, 11 people have been infected with dengue fever in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected to 56, said surgeon Shahidul Islam. In Brahmanbaria, the office of the civilian surgeon has announced that the total number of dengue patients in the district would be 50 to Saturday. In Bhola, 26 people from the capital were affected by dengue fever. The first case of dengue infection was recorded at Kurigram on Saturday with an infected housewife at Phulbari upazila.
