A Kia truck killed two people traveling on motorcycles on the Tutu and Akanteng Road in Lower West Akyem Municipality in the Eastern Region.
The truck, with registration number ER-246-15, which was said to be speeding, ran over the two people who were on the unlicensed motorcycle.
The rider died instantly.
The horseman later died at St. Dominic Hospital in Akwatia, also in the Eastern region.
Confirming the incident, the city manager of the Lower West Akyem branch of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. Kwasi Addo Annor, revealed that the driver of the truck, identified as Asi Agyei, aged 46 years, had tried to run away. after the incident.
However, he was arrested by Asamankan police and is currently being held by the police who are participating in the investigations.
