Sam George, Member of Parliament (MP) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ningo Prampram said that the patron of the Election Commission (EC), Ms. Jean Mensa, has now become a demigod.

The Minority in Parliament led by the Leader of the Minority in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Chief Minority Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, broke the police barricade at the Ridge Roundabout to submit a petition to the president of the electoral commissioner, Jean Mensa.

Police prevented them from presenting their petition which the EC said the NDC should have given them advance notice.

Reacting to this on Neat FM, Sam George said: “Jean Mensa is now a demigod whose permission we have to ask for before joining her since when Ghana became this. If they see her as a demigod, we don’t see her as such.

“The lack of respect she has shown us, we will treat it the same way in the next parliament because in the next parliament we are the majority, don’t forget it,” he said.

According to the NDC, former President Mahama and some of their aspiring parliamentarians are being cheated of their victory by the EC.

As a result, they present a petition to the President of the EC to correct the wrongs in the recent election.
