Renato Sanches, Yves Bissouma and three other players linked to Liverpool before January

Liverpool started the campaign as they finished the last, establishing themselves as the early pioneers in the Premier League race to glory.

After a hectic, unprecedented but nonetheless exciting year in 2020, Liverpool are hopeful things will be a little more normal in 2021 as we continue to wait for the fans to return to Anfield.

When they return, Liverpool could perhaps have more new faces in the squad, adding to the additions made this summer.

And a lot of the names are being touted with a move to join Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Although indications from the club indicate that important signings may not be on the agenda next month, that does not stop the rumor mill from spinning.

Here are the players who have recently been linked with a move to join Liverpool during the January transfer window …

Ozan Kabak

Liverpool are said to be looking to bolster their defense amid their long-term injury woes with a move from much-loved Turkish defender Ozan Kabak.

It has been suggested that they might be interested in the services of the 20-year-old, who has previously been linked with a move to Anfield.

Recent ties with Kabak have been clashed inside the club, however, with suggestions that speculation could be the work of an exuberant agent and a team desperate for money. But it remains to be seen if Kabak will pass next month – and if Liverpool might be interested.

Renato Sanches

Since a bad stint on loan in the Premier League with Swansea City, Renato Sanches has relaunched his career since his final departure from Bayern Munich to join Lille.

The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the most exciting players in Ligue 1 and is said to have courted interest from Manchester United as well.

But Liverpool have indicated that Sanches is not a player the club are looking to sign, either in the January transfer window or next summer.

Yves bissouma

Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma has reportedly generated a lot of interest as 2021 approaches, with Liverpool among those who are reportedly interested in his signing.

The 24-year-old has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid, having been a notable performer for Brighton in 2020.

Sven botman

There are plenty of outings for the French side of Lille being touted and Sven Botman is one of them, with some claims Liverpool may have expressed interest in the player in November.

The 20-year-old Dutch defender has excelled since joining the Ligue 1 squad from Ajax and is reportedly available for around € 30million with Inter Milan also being attributed with an interest in its services.

Jack Grealish

One of the Premier League’s best players of 2020, Jack Grealish has helped Aston Villa reach new heights this season after their remarkable start to the campaign.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the Villa captain and the England international, but it has now been suggested that Liverpool are also in the hunt.

It seems highly improbable. And the odds of Grealish moving anywhere in January seem slim, especially given Villa’s impressive start to the season.
