Do not predict the outcome of elections – apostle Onyinah to the prophets
The outgoing President of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, has advised Ghanaian clergymen who see themselves as prophets to be wise and to refrain from predicting the outcome of elections.
According to the apostle Onyinah, true prophets do not confuse the nations with their prophecies, but rather are embodiments of wisdom and knowledge.
In a sermon at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Accra, the former head of the Pentecostal Church in Ghana noted that the office of the prophets had been abused from ancient times until ‘nowadays.
He said, “One of the functions which has been abused from ancient times to modern times is the office of prophet. There are true prophets, but the true prophet must be an embodiment of wisdom such that his ministry must not be. confuse a nation.
“Unfortunately, one of the female prophets mentioned in the Bible called Noadiah followed the money and gave a false prophecy about a ruler called Nehemiah.
“I ask those who call themselves prophets in our land to be patient and wise and not prophesy about who will become president and who will not, and not to prophesy about the evils that some people are going through, though. they will die or not, but give us the spirit of God that will grow our economy and our nation. May the Lord have mercy on us “.
NPP must find answers for close elections
Apostle Onyinah urged the ruling NPP to investigate why parliamentary elections are near given the number of social interventions the administration has introduced over the past four years.
He added that the current stalemate in the next Parliament where two parties have 137 seats each was a sign from God that the NPP and NDC must work together for the success of the nation.
He also said that the number of votes cast by the candidate for president of the Ghana Trade Union Movement (GUM) was a rejection by the country’s two main parties; the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) by some voters.
“Why should even GUM have over 100,000 votes to come third, it seems some people were saying they were tired of the politics some NPP and NDC members were playing … NDC also needs to take this into consideration. With the draw game that we have now, the Lord says that the two sides have to work together, ”he said.
The theme of the thanksgiving service was: “Ebenezer, so far the Lord has helped us”; “For the battle always belongs to the Lord”.
