The outgoing president of the Church of Pentecost has said that the inability of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come out of the Dec. 7 poll with a firm hold by parliament is a sign from God.

According to Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, this historic development is a message to the ruling party to come back to the drawing board and make an honest assessment of its governance.

Reverend Opoku Oyinah made this known by delivering the official sermon at the Nuclear Power Plant Thanksgiving Service on December 27, 2020.

He also pleaded for a united front between the two main parties in parliament to ensure peace and satisfy the Ghanaian people.

Reverend Opoku Oyinah told the rally in the State House forecourt that the NPP and NDC need to work together in the next parliament because that’s what Ghanaians seem to be telling the two main parties.

The NPP used the interfaith service to thank God for the party’s electoral victory, although the NDC disputes the claim and heads to court on Wednesday with an election petition.

While discussing the free SHS policy, he added that the policy seems to have resonated with many Ghanaians.

Thus, he remains hopeful that the government will replicate the policy in other sectors to ensure that all Ghanaians benefit from the national cake.

In the aftermath of the parliamentary elections on December 7, the ruling party came out with 137 seats while the opposition NDC also won 137 seats.

However, there is one independent candidate who has already declared his fondness for the NPP and the NDC is claiming other seats in Techiman South.

Speaking at the same event, President Nana Akufo-Addo vowed not to be vindictive or deprive the many Ghanaians who did not vote for him in the 2020 presidential election of development, adding that these people should not be confused as it is committed to an equal distribution of the national cake.

While thanking those who ensured the success of his re-election, Nana Addo distinguished those who voted against him by saying “I will have their interests at heart and in mind in everything I do”.

The president said the time has come for Ghanaians to collectively defend the peace and quiet of the country after the 2020 elections.

He believes that the biggest lesson from the recent presidential and parliamentary elections is the avoidance of actions that have the propensity to plunge Ghana into a state of disarray.

“We must take the lead to carry out the main lessons of this election – namely that all people of good will, regardless of their political affiliation, must work together to ensure the peace, prosperity and progress of our nation “, did he declare.

He said the NPP, after the elections, possessed a renewed commitment to ensure the success of Ghanaian democracy, noting that all hands should be on deck to prevent post-election tensions that could derail economic and social development. which has been achieved over the past few years. .
