The administration of Deeper Life High School suspended Akwa Ibom State School Principal Solomon Ndidi for alleged assault on one of the students.
The distraught mother of Deeper Life High School junior student, Idoro near Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Deborah Okezie had in a Facebook video that went viral on social media platforms, alleged that her son was starving and also assaulted by some senior students at the school. .
She said she went to school occasionally last month and saw that her once noisy and healthy son was completely emaciated.
She said that after pushing him, he alleged that the school principal transferred him to the senior students’ hostel for bedwetting, revealing that the senior students took this opportunity to abuse him by thrusting their hands and legs into his anus even as they swore. to kill him if he ever reports the incident to the director or his mother.
Continuing, she said, when she reported his findings to the principal, he vowed to bring the 11-year-old back to the junior hostel, but did not.
Seemingly disturbed by the Facebook post, the state government immediately took action by setting up an investigative team to unravel the alleged abuses.
Governor Udom Emmanuel, who ordered state education commissioner Dr Enobong Mboho to investigate the alleged abuses, vowed no stone would be left behind to get to the root of the alleged despicable act.
Also stung by the ugly development, the school administration suspended the school principal, Solomon Ndidi, to allow an undeterred investigation into the matter, ensuring that no one would be spared.
The statement read: “We want to assure the general public that the investigations into the case have begun and that no culprit, whether staff or students, will be spared if found guilty in the end. some exercice. As an interim measure and to underscore the seriousness we attach to higher monitoring values, the school principal has been summarily suspended even as new investigations continue.
“We firmly assure the aware public that the overall result of the investigations will be made public and that appropriate disciplinary action will be imposed on all those responsible for this unfortunate act which certainly threatens to cast unnecessary blame at a unique institution which has been a shining example. for over the years.
