Given the year’s dominance of the Air Jordan 1, it’s no surprise that NIKE, Inc. is planning dozens of new colourways of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker for 2021. Among those proposals, a “Black / Light Army / Sail / Fresh Mint ‘option offers an experimental look in brushed bronze.

At a glance, the upcoming pair looks like the now beloved ensemble of the ‘Shadow’ silhouette: ‘Black’ takes over the toe box, midfoot and collar, and branding ‘AIR JORDAN ”on the side ankle flap, while a gray suede overlays the heel and ankle flaps mentioned above. Profile swooshes, lacy guards, and panels around the forefoot, however, deviate from a grayscale palette in favor of shimmering brown makeup. While the full versatility of these overlays has yet to be seen, it’s likely the design detail will make this Jordan 1 one of the more unconventional hi-tops of 2021.
