Police search mothers of two abandoned babies

The Accra Regional Police Command is searching for the mothers of two abandoned children in two different locations.

The babies were dumped in Ogbojo and Agege, all of Accra’s suburbs.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, head of the Command’s public affairs unit, disclosed to the Ghana News Agency.

She said that on December 27, 2020, police received information that a newly born baby was abandoned in Ogbojo, so police attended the scene and found a one-day-old baby behind a graveyard.

DSP Tenge said the baby was taken to Ogbojo Hospital for medical treatment and there was no cause for alarm.

On a related note, on December 27, 2020, there was another report of an abandoned male child of around two months old behind the Pentecostal Church at Dansoman-Agege in Accra.

She said photographs of the scene and of the babies were taken for further investigation.
